At the Xbox Games Showcase 2026 on June 7, 2026, Microsoft and Asobo Studio officially announced World Update 22: US National Parks for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. This free update celebrates America's natural heritage and was released on July 4, 2026, just in time for Independence Day.
Key Highlights of World Update 22
30+ National Parks & Monuments: Covers massive natural areas across 12 US states, including Arizona, California, Utah, and Wyoming.
Visual Improvements: Features updated elevation data, high-resolution aerial imagery, and 46 new Points of Interest (POIs).
Free Goodyear Blimp: The iconic airship is now available to all players as a free flyable aircraft.
New Activities: Includes three new Guided Tours and nine new Discovery Flights across the updated regions.
The showcase trailer also teased the return of competitive air racing in Fall 2026. The National Championship Air Races will feature a new racing venue in Roswell, New Mexico. This multiplayer mode will be a free expansion and will include plane classes like Jet, Biplane, and Unlimited.
The update is available now for free on the in-game marketplace for Xbox Series X|S, PC (including Xbox Game Pass), and PlayStation 5.
